Shoreline Greenway Trail's First Saturday Walk
Meet at the Canal Dock Boathouse at 475 Long Wharf Drive. Join the walk north along the coast toward Water Street and Wooster Square along urban sidewalks, highlighting existing and future trail development, and connections to other urban trails and shoreline connections. Be prepared to hike about five miles total, passing the State Street Station before returning. Leashed dogs are welcome. See SGT's website for more details, and contact information for questions.

Bradley Street Bicycle Co-Op (BSBC) Bike Box - Free Bicycle Repair Clinic
The Bike Box is a collaboration between BSBC and the Community Place-making Engagement Network (CPEN) to bring free bike repairs and maintenance classes to the Newhalville neighborhood. Stop by the free bicycle repair clinic, located on the corner of Hazel Street and Shelton Avenue, right off the Farmington Canal Trail.

Women Rock the Future Hike
Women Rock the Future is a community hike designed to build community and raise support for education, advocacy, and food programs supporting women and girls in New Haven and León, Nicaragua. The October 3rd, 2026 hike will run through East Rock Park and will include guest speakers. Join in celebrating the role of women’s leadership in the history and future of New Haven’s Leon Sister City Project's community development projects. Join the 30-mile bike ride event along Shoreline Greenway covering the entire length from New Haven to Madison. Participants will meet at Union Station in New Haven. Check SGT's website for event sign-up and details.

Six Lakes Park Coalition Semi-Annual Clean-up
Six Lakes volunteers will be gathering at noon for the coalition’s semi-annual cleanup in the parking lot on Putnam Avenue just east of Dixwell Avenue and walking up to the photo-op and signage celebration (see below) together before fanning out to pick up trash around the property’s perimeter. The cleanup runs from noon to 2 p.m., and registration is requested.

Six Lakes Park Coalition Signage Celebration
The Six Lakes Park Coalition will hold a photo opportunity celebrating the installation of two new educational signs about the Six Lakes property, adjacent to the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail in Hamden, on Sunday, October 4th at 12:30 p.m. All are welcome to join local elected officials, coalition leaders, and the community at the celebration.
